The dental practice at Aminya Street, Mansfield first began catering to the needs of local people over 40 years ago. Since then we have grown to proudly welcome patients from all over Brisbane and beyond. Many families have grown up in the area and we are thrilled to be able offer our expertise to the next generation.
Our experienced, family-oriented team comprises three dentists and four support staff.

Dr Steven Fiore
Growing up on Brisbane’s Southside, Dr Steven Fiore first graduated as a pharmacist and worked for several years in retail pharmacy. He then returned for further study to pursue a career in dentistry and graduated from The University of Queensland School of Dentistry receiving academic prizes in paediatrics and periodontics.
Steven’s focus is on providing excellent dental care in all aspects of general dentistry. He enjoys working in a relaxed manner and provides treatment and advice in a non-pressure environment. He especially enjoys working with children and restorative dentistry.
Steven enjoys continuing education which ensures he is up to date with the very best in dental care. He is a member of the Australian Dental Association and Australian Prosthodontic Society.
Steven has been the principal dentist at Aminya St Dental since purchasing the practice from Dr Robert McCray in 2015.
Dr Kate Fiore
Kate has over 10 years experience in general dentistry and is enthusiastic about the oral health and wellbeing of her patients. Kate originally obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy with first class honours from the University of Queensland. Following on from working in both hospital and community pharmacy, she returned to The University of Queensland to complete a Bachelor of Dental Science in 2009. Kate received numerous academic excellence awards throughout her years at UQ including the Henry Schein Halas Prize in her final year for highest GPA for her degree.
Upon graduation Kate has completed many didactic and hands on courses in varied aspects of clinical dentistry. She is passionate about working with people to help them achieve a smile that both looks and feels good. Kate is a member of the Australian Dental Association. Kate enjoys working in all aspects of general dentistry including with children.
In her spare time Kate enjoys spending time with her young family and cooking.
Dr Monica Smith
Dr Monica Smith graduated from the University of Queensland in 1983. Following three years in the school dental service in both south west Queensland and Gladstone she entered private practice on the Sunshine Coast. Monica returned to Brisbane in 1988 where she has worked in private practice, The Brisbane Dental Hospital, The University of Queensland and Griffith University School of Dentistry
Since 2000 Monica has worked part time at Aminya St. She has also been involved in the teaching of clinical dentistry to third year dental students at UQ from 2000-2014 and has also been a clinical demonstrator at the Griffith University Dental School.
Monica is a member of the Australian Dental Association, the Australian Society of Endodontology and the Amara Dental Study Group. Monica enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and has a particular interest in endodontics (root canal treatment).
Dr Robert McCray
Born and educated in Brisbane, Dr Robert McCray opted to join the Royal Australian Air Force after receiving his dental qualifications from the University of Queensland in 1983. He served as a dental officer in various posts both nationally and internationally for the next five years. Family ties drew him back to Brisbane in 1988 and he has been privileged to be based at the dental surgery in Aminya St since 1989.
Robert has given an ongoing commitment to the dental profession with a strong involvement in both the Australian Dental Association (Qld Branch) and the Dental Board in Queensland. His contribution in these areas has seen him recognized with membership of the Academy of Dentistry International, the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. In 2017 Robert received the Life Membership Award from the ADA Qld. Dr Robert McCray retired from the practice in April 2020.
